Took over
and developed World “Zinc Smelters and Projects – Processes, Costs &
Profitability” study for Brook Hunt
(mining and metallurgical industry consultants). Given on-going responsibility for production
of this study on an annual basis - currently covers 98% of Western World and
60% of Former Eastern Bloc primary zinc smelter production, globally 85%. Generated
review of European best practice in large zinc ingot casting systems for
Australian engineering company. Acted as
expert witness for the plaintiff in metal industry contract litigation,
resulting in judgement of liability of the defendants on all claims, and a
successful financial outcome. Provided
technical and financial consultancy in client study and review of Russian
non-ferrous metals plant. Carried out
benchmarking exercise and guided preparation of the forward plan. Conducted
technical audit of Russian non-ferrous metals plant for trading company. Prepared
a technical study for Indian lead-zinc smelter to enable upgrading of the
zinc refining section to world best practice. Acted as
expert witness in defence of a prosecution in France under health and safety legislation. Carried
out review of commercial opportunities in China for trading company. Produced
study of zinc and lead casting equipment suppliers. Part of a
team acting for UK government department to carry
out a management, process, environmental and health and safety audit of
lead-zinc smelter in India. Member of
a team to review potential of East European zinc-lead smelter. Independent
expert in insurance claim litigation. Provided
independent assessment of Russian copper smelter and copper refinery. Provided
assessment of South African Smelter. Assisted
with UK smelter planning. Member of a client’s team to select, visit and assess
Chinese zinc smelters. Part of a “due diligence” team for Russian smelter sale. Reviewed Chinese zinc and copper smelters for trading
client. Prepared joint improvement plan for East European
zinc-lead smelter. Conducted global
safety survey for US smelting company. |
